I have a Galaxy S3 and I have factory reset my phone when I felt that it needed.
After that, voicemail icon appeared even though there was no voicemail.
I tried several way on internet but I share the best two ways that you can clear the icon on your android phone.
Method 1.
1. Long Click on the New voicemail notification in the notification bar.
2. Click App info
3. ClickForce Stop
If you can solve the problem with method 1, then you can try method 2. It works the best.
Method 2. (this is the best way)
1. Leave a voice mail yourself
2. Call your voice mail and delete it
